red rock country

To juxtapose my Ireland post, thought I’d share some paintings I did while down in Capitol Reef.

In Shine is a poured painting–no paintbrushes were used in its creation!

And I’ll include a bonus piece just for you! This is a mixed media piece: watercolor, nupastels, and a crap ton of ink. This piece is about 2 feet tall and 3 feet wide. While it wasn’t done down in Capitol Reef, it was in large part inspired by it. This was my final project for my Drawing III class–at the time, I thought I would be shortly leaving Utah and this became my final (and somewhat fond) farewell.
