don’t blink

I’ve fallen in love with the idea of doing a series of small portraits (5×7). My dear friend, Jessica, was my first volunteer.

Fun fact: I accidentally used the wrong yellow, which is why she has this unnatural glow. But I actually really love the effect it’s had on the piece–it’s given it this eery, surreal feel to it. (Which is intensified by the fact that she’s sorta resembling Scully from The X-Files. But maybe I’m the only one that sees that?)

My second victim volunteer was Jacob! I actually used the right yellow so his looks much less sinister.

If you have a picture you’d like turned into a mini watercolor portrait, send me a note!
