electing strange perfections

It’s been ages.

I’ve a sneaking suspicion that 2016 would’ve been a bit more manageable thus far if I’d been painting at all consistently. But every day is a new opportunity to not put it off. It helps to admit to myself (frequently) that I’m never not going to be tired so I might as well get on with it.

I read an article recently that posits walking in nature prevents depression and helps with anxiety. I’ve taken it to heart.

There is a lot of conservation land surrounding my home. This afternoon I took a short walk through the fields and captured some lovely scenes. One such scene I decided to paint.

That’s the image, in all its glory.

Here’s my quick version of it (~15 min). And apologies for the color distortion; I really ought to have taken it in a room other than my studio with its yellow lights!

Hopefully, I’ll be posting more from here on out. And chin up, all — we’ve made it through another Wednesday.
