through the woods

Met up with a fellow artist yesterday. We did some studio painting and some plein air studies (the scorching sun managed to cut it short though). Forgot how nice it is having someone to paint with!

With this last study, I clearly took some imaginative liberties–made the sky darker, more sinister.

I used black ink to sketch out these plein air landscapes. I quite like how that turns out, so it was fortuitous that my pencil was misbehaving.

Variety is the spice of life and all that jazz.
